A Little Bit About my Angels
It is so easy to complain about being a mom, because well... it's hard. But today I wanted to talk about the things I love most about being a mommy and all the things my two sweet girls have taught me.
First, let's start with Boston.
Boston is the epitome of an oldest child. She is strong willed, caring, and a natural born leader. Boston has so many aspirations in life already and she is only four. She came into the world in her own little way and has been head strong and stubborn about everything since that day.
Boston has taught me to love fiercely. She loves everyone she meets and with her whole heart. She tells me everyday that she loves me. Her night time prayers almost always consist of her telling Heavenly Father that she loves all the people in her family. (Her prayers can get pretty lengthy at times.)
She has taught me to be patient. She always has something extra she wants to do before going anywhere (a trait I am sure she inherited from my mom, or as my dad sometimes calls her "One More Thing" Michelle) and sometimes it is hard to be patient and wait for her to do whatever it is she needs to do but I am working on it.
She has taught me that the world is still magical. Every time she discovers something new it is like it has never happened on the earth before. She fully embraces the magic in the world. She is so creative always dressing up and playing pretend. Every time she thinks something is exciting it is like it she is seeing it for the first time.
She has taught me that no matter your dress size you are beautiful. She always, without fail, tells me how beautiful I am every day and has never once cared about me being bigger than the other moms. She gives the most genuine compliments. I love that about her. She knows just what to say when I am having a bad hair or make-up day. She also loves when people tell her she looks like me. You can just see in her little eyes that she thinks I am the most amazing thing in the world and she wants to be just like me.
Boston has taught me to never stop dreaming. Every day she has a new thing she wants to be, some days she says she is going to grow up to be a Doctor, some days she wants to be "on the stage" as she puts it, and sometimes she wants to be just a mom, but my favorite days are when she wants to be everything all at once. She has such big dreams and I can't wait to watch her achieve them.
She has taught me that friends are more important than I make them. She loves all her friends no matter what, and she always wants to makes sure that I have friends too. She will ask me often when I am going to make new mommy friends. She just wants me to be happy.
Now Charlotte.
My sweet beautiful tiny Charlotte. When she came into this world she had the most sweet innocent disposition. She was never fussy. She would just smile at me for hours and was such a snuggler. She is the sweetest, happiest kid you will ever meet. She has turned into quite the spunky little two year old. She can make a mess faster than you could ever imagine and somehow always manages to find the one thing she shouldn't be playing with and plays with it. She is an adventure everyday.
Charlotte looks at her sister as if she is the best thing that has ever happened to this world and she is very kind to her sister even when Boston can be a little mean. (Recently she has started to fight back which we are working on.)
She has taught me to slow down and enjoy the little moments. Charlotte will often stop playing just to have snuggles with me. The other day she and Boston were playing in their room and out of nowhere I heard her saying "Need Mama. Where Mama? Need Mama." And when I went out to check on her all she wanted was a hug and kiss.
She has taught me to enjoy my food more, which is weird since she is only 2 but that girl loves food. She loves to try new food, and she always wants me to try it too.
She is so generous. Anything she has she wants to share with everyone around her. She spends much of her time walking around the house trying to share with Boston or mommy.
She has a love in her eyes that I will never understand. She has this way of looking at someone and just melting them instantly. (Side Note: she gives the very best hugs.)
My girls have made me a better person and I am so grateful that my Father in heaven has trusted me to teach and guide them. I am so glad they are my babies!
